Good Morning Britain viewers tuned in to watch the show's news coverage of A-level results day but were left completely floored after presenter Pip Tomson made a fatal error.

Kate Garraway passed over to Pip who was in Hull with four students waiting to open their results.

She briefly spoke to them to find out what they are planning on doing before she allowed them to check what they'd received.

The final girl, Olivia, expressed that she wanted to become a doctor and Pip eagerly urged her to open the envelope.

The student began to well up as she realised she'd been awarded three A* grades and an excited Pip enthusiastically congratulated her as she began to cry.

However, the presenter made a terrible mistake as she took the report card from her hand and flashed it to the camera.

Fans were quick to spot what she'd done wrong and called her out on Twitter.

One viewer wrote: "Yeah, just flash her private details on national telly."

Another added: "That’s it. Just show her results on national TV which has her personal information on!"

Others couldn't believe what was happening and branded the ordeal as "tense" and "cruel" as the students were made to wait for the news bulletins of the morning before opening their results.

One stunned viewer tweeted out: "This is wrong on every level. Way to put these kids under pressure."

Another branded the ordeal a "weird theatre" and called it a "private matter" which shouldn't have been broadcast.

A concerned fan noted that although the students "had agreed to open them on television," it "shouldn't be a thing," while another simply called it "awful".

One of the four students told Pip that he had "an unconditional offer" from a university, which meant that he was guaranteed a place on the course.

Despite his secured spot, the boy was still eager to check his results and told Pip that he was hoping for two Bs and a C grade.

However, once he cracked open the envelope he discovered a two Ds and a C.
