I'm A Celebrity's Shane Richie fears stars will 'be off their t*ts on Welsh magic mushrooms' in Wales

I'M A Celebrity's Shane Richie fears the stars will "be off their t*ts and singing to the moon" on "Welsh magic mushrooms" by this time next week.

Shane admitted he has no idea what to expect when they enter the haunted Grwych Castle but thinks the famous campers could be asked to forage in the wilderness for their supper.

He joked anything could happen, and mistakes could be made, especially if the group wander across a crop of hallucinogenic mushrooms in the dirt.

Laughing, he said the psychedelic ingredient would certainly help the group to bond.

Shane told The Sun: "I have been reading about mushrooms and because we're in the wild forest of Wales there are certain mushrooms I'm looking out for.

"But the danger is, I don't know the difference between edible ones and magic mushrooms. We could be off our t*ts at 3 o'clock in the morning singing 'Kumbaya' to the moon."

He added: "Can you imagine Mo Farah off his t**ts on magic mushrooms?"

But Shane – who has three children with second wife Christie Goddard and two with ex-wife Coleen Nolan – has other ways to entertain the stars and said he'll whip out his Benidorm character Sammy Valentino.

He said: "Loads of people have asked me to do the Sammy Valentino impression that I do in Benidorm, if the rest of the celebrities haven't seen it, they'll be like 'what the hell is Shane doing'".

Shane told The Sun he had originally fit I'm A Celebrity around all his other work which has now been cancelled due to the pandemic – leaving him skint.

But he said there's a chance he'll return to his role as drag queen Loco Chanelle in the musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie when he leaves the castle.

He hopes the show will help him slim down for the role.

He said about the notorious lack of food on I'm A Celeb: "Listen, I've got a Covid belly, so if I can drop two dress sizes I'd be really happy.

"I might be going back into Jamie the Musical in the West End in December and at the moment I can't fit into my dress."

I’m A Celebrity will kick off this weekend at Gwrych Castle in North Wales with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly returning to host the first show on Sunday on ITV.

Shane will be joined by Hollie Arnold, Jordan North, Vernon Kay, AJ Pritchard, Jessica Plummer and Beverley Callard, and Giovanna Fletcher in the 2020 line-up.
