Inside Strictly pro Nikita Kuzmin’s romance with Nicole Wirt amid Tilly rumours

Strictly Come Dancing waltzed onto our screens with a bang as the BBC revealed four new professional dancers to their sizzling lineup.

The dazzling new dancers stepping into the Strictly ballroom hail from across the globe, including British dancer Kai Widdrington, South African champion Cameron Lombard and Polish Latin Champion and winner of BBC One’s The Greatest Dancer, Jowita Przystał.

But it’s Ukrainian dancer Nikita Kuzmin who is grabbing the headlines as his lovelife off screen sparks interest from viewers across the country.

The six-time Latin and Ballroom National Champion is in a long-term relationship with fellow dancer Nicole Wurt.

Kuzmin, who is partnered with Tilly Ramsay, daughter of telly chef Gordon Ramsay, has faced rumours of a rift with his dancer girlfriend after pictures emerged of TikTok star Tilly, 19, inviting Ukrainian-born Nikita, 23, up to her apartment.

Fans were also quick to note the oozing chemistry between the two on-screen.

As the hit BBC show kicks off its new season, let’s take a look at inside Kuzmin and Wirt’s longterm romance…

Who is Nicole Wirt?

According to the pair’s Instagram accounts, the dancing duo are seriously loved up off-screen and in a committed long-term relationship. Little is known about Nikita's girlfriend, but her Instagram bio reveals she is also a professional dancer who is based in Frankfurt, Germany.

The 23-year-old blonde stunner regularly posts intimate snaps cuddling and enjoying romantic getaways with partner Nikita, as well as sharing pictures of her travels and dance performances to her more than 2000 followers.

Nicole also boasts that she is a proud ambassador for independent fashion brand @atelier_gaby.

The couple are believed to have been an item for around 5 years, and are both based in Frankfurt, Germany.

Their Dancing Past

While both dancers appear to be adamant on keeping a low-profile, they have frequently been spotted as a dynamic duo during dance competitions.

Both Nikita and Nicole's Instagram pages show them first sharing the dance floor back in 2016, as they came 1st in Amateur Latin in Zurich.

Since then, snaps of the pair have been more frequent. It can therefore be suspected that the dancers have only grown closer ever since.

According to the World Dance Sport Federation, the talented pair have competed together for Germany.

Pictures can also be found of them competing together at the German Nationals in 2020.

The dancing duo began sharing snaps of one another on their social media pages following their appearance at the German nationals, suggesting that to be the start of their romance.

But while they are used to dance as a team, Nikita will be stepping alone into the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom, his usual dance and life partner allowing him to enjoy the spotlight without her.

On-screen chemistry with Tilly Ramsay

The couple made headlines after pictures emerged of Strictly star Tilly, inviting Nikita up to her apartment.

The pair were seen arriving at Tilly's flat in separate cars before she held the door open for Nikita to head inside.

The pictures were taken on Thursday after the duo had spent the day together training at a west London studio.

An onlooker said: "Nikita was first and waited outside before Tilly arrived a few minutes later.

“They were grinning from ear-to-ear, chatting and laughing."

The source toldThe Sun the pair looked 'very comfortable' in each other's company.

Last weekend’s pre-recorded Strictly showed Tilly introducing Nikita, who was sporting a hint of a bare chest, to her famous family on a video call.

Her dad Gordon was quick to lay down the law saying: “Nikita, can you do me a favour? Can you do your shirt up?”

Tilly was said to be dating chef Gino D’Acampo’s son Luciano in late 2019 — after their dads filmed ITV’s Men Behaving Badly.

After a shortened season in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, Strictly fans can expect the show to return tonight.

The first live show of the 19th series of the programme starts TONIGHT at 7pm on BBC One.

All episodes will then be available on the BBC iPlayer.
