Is there going to be a 365 DNI 2 on Netflix? Everything to know about the Polish thriller – The Sun

RAUNCHY Polish thriller 365 DNI (365 Days) was an unexpected hit on Netflix this year.

The racy movie, which stars Michele Morrone as a mafia boss and Anna Maria Sieklucka as his kidnapped lover, has viewers flustered and unable to sleep.

The stars of the show had to spend hours filming sex scenes to get the erotic movie just right, leading some viewers to speculate they were real.

Fans think the kinky show makes 50 Shades of Grey look tame and demanded a sequel.

But the release date of a DNI 365 2 has yet to be confirmed by Netflix.

What is 365 DNI about?

365 DNI follows the story of "dominant mafia boss" Massimo Torricelli, who imprisons Laura Biel and gives her one year to fall in love with him – leading to a lot of racy sex scenes, voyeurism, and BDSM.

It's based erotic book of the same name by Blanka Lipińska about "a fiery executive in a spiritless relationship."

When sales director Laura heads off to Italy to save her failing marriage, she's kidnapped by Massimo, the leader of the Sicilian mafia, following his father's assassination.

Laura soon falls for the hot Italian and the sex scenes between them are so intense, some fans didn't believe they were acting.

The hours upon hours of filming certainly paid off as viewers admitted they couldn't sleep after watching it.

How long has it been on Netflix?

365 DNI made its Netflix debut in June after its February release in Poland – and left locked down viewers wanting more.

The first movie ended on somewhat of a cliffhanger as Laura disappears during a car journey in a tunnel.

Massimo presumes she is dead with the final scene showing a police car blocking the underpass’ entrance.

But a 365 DNI 2 is a no-brainer given its unprecedented success amongst American viewers and rapidly becoming Netflix’s best performing films of the year.

Also, there are two other books in Lipińska's trilogy so it was odds on that there would be a second movie.

The second book is called Ten Dzień (meaning this Day) was released in 2018 and introduces new characters, like Massimo’s twin brother, Adriano.

Unlike his sibling, Adriano studied in the UK and continues to reside there, having seemingly walked away from the family business.

When is 365 DNI 2 coming out?

The sequel of 365 DNI was supposed to begin production in Sicily back in August, reported Newsweek.

Unfortunately, production was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic and it hasn't been confirmed when Massimo and Laura will return to our screens.

The second movie will begin with Massimo finding out about Laura's pregnancy, according to reports.

As she and Massimo attempt to live a somewhat normal life after getting married, Laura is kidnapped again — this time by a man named Marcelo "Nacho" Matos, who is a hitman and the son of yet another mob boss.

According to reports, the second novel ends with Laura being shot and Massimo having to decide whether to save the love of his life or their baby, leading to a disturbing love triangle.

Has it caused controversy?

The erotic storyline has repeatedly come under fire for its salacious content.

Many people felt that the show "romanticized Stockholm Syndrome" as Laura becomes enamored with the dominant gangster.

Even the opening of 365 DNI caused waves on social media as red-faced viewers were shocked by the graphic X-rated oral sex scene.

The Polish flick has gone down a storm with its ultra rude scenes of a sexual nature – including an air hostess performing fellatio on a plane passenger.

Many people were left mortified as they watched the on-screen action with their parents during the coronavirus crisis.

Speaking to Variety during a recent interview, cinematographer Bartek Cierlica said they managed to make the X-rated scenes seem so realistic by ensuring the camera was "invisible as possible, to let them act."

"We created the most intimate atmosphere we could for the actors. We reduced the on-set crew to an absolute minimum.

"As it was handheld I was following their action, and trying to show their passion in a natural but beautiful way. We wanted this sex to be pretty authentic."

"We wanted the viewer to hear their whispers, heavy breaths and we wanted to show the sweat, passion. Be natural, authentic, but not to cross the border of pornography."
