James Argent has been tipped to appear on 2021’s Dancing on Ice, according to reports.

The 32 year old former The Only Way Is Essex star would be following in the footsteps of his stunning girlfriend Gemma Collins if he were to get his skates on.

However, James’ appearance on the show could come with a condition that he will need to take regular drug tests after he opened up about his addiction to cocaine, reports claim.

A source said: “Dancing On Ice bosses are interested in Arg — he’s a lovely bloke and is a popular guy.”

And it appears Arg is just as keen to be on the show as producers are to have him as it’s been claimed he has been rollerskating to help improve his balance ahead of the DOI trials next month.

The insider continued to tell The Sun Online: “They think he shows real potential but obviously he needs to prove he’s serious about taking part.

“His issues with drug use in the past have been well documented and there has been talk of him having to have drug tests if he signs up to the show to prove he is clean.

“He has told close friends about Dancing On Ice and said he’d love to get out and try it.

“Arg knows it’s not an easy show to take part in but he’s more than willing to give it a go.”

ITV declined to comment when contacted by OK! online.

James’ beloved girlfriend Gemma, 39, took part in Dancing on Ice in 2019 and made headlines when she took a tumble on the ice, which host Holly Willoughby called “spectacular”.

The GC also sparked a feud with DOI judge Jason Gardiner during her time on the show, after she accused the judge of “selling stories” on her.

James joining DOI would be a hugely positive step for the star, who last month candidly revealed he is addicted to cocaine.

Speaking to The Sun Online at the time, James recalled how he had locked himself in his home and “took drugs for three days straight on my own in the pitch black” before flying to Thailand to visit a rehabilitation retreat.

Revealing the core of his addiction issues, James told of how being trolled for his weight drove him to binge on food, alcohol and cocaine.

He told The Sun: “The core of my addiction stems from my eating disorder.

“I binge on food if I hate the way I look.

“It’s like the opposite of anorexia where people starve themselves if they are down about their body. I eat when I’m not even hungry.”

He continued to tell The Sun: “Everyone thinks I’m this really happy guy but it’s a front.

“All this p**s-taking and the abuse I was receiving on social media was hurting me inside.

“People would say to me: ‘You’ve been binge-eating on drugs but supermodels take cocaine to stop themselves from eating.

“Surely you should be skinny like a rake, not the biggest you’ve ever been’.”
