JENNIFER Lawrence is an international superstar and acclaimed actress, her family beginnings were centered in Kentucky.
The actress was raised in a suburb just outside Louisville, Kentucky in a close-knit family, which consists of her parents and two brothers.
Who are Jennifer Lawrence's parents?
Gary and Karen Lawrence are JLaw's parents.
Gary owns a contracting business, while Jennifer's mother Karen is the founder of a summer camp called Hi-Ho.
The couple met when Karen attended the University of Louisville, where Gary's father was Dean of Students.
They had two sons, and then Jennifer was born – the first daughter born on her dad’s side of the family in 50 years.
They now both work at Camp Hi-Ho, which offers outdoor activities from fishing, to paddle boating, to horseback riding for children and teens.
In November 2020, Jen's parents announced that the summer camp had been destroyed in a huge blaze.
On the Camp Hi-Ho Facebook page they wrote: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm the news that we lost our barn last night in a horrible fire,
“We are deeply thankful that no people or animals were hurt, but we are still mourning the loss of years of hard work and memories that occurred in these walls."
