Fans of BBC crime drama Line Of Duty were left gobsmacked and quite disgusted by the revelations on Sunday night’s show, after they discovered more about DCI Jo Davidson and her family history.
Episode five gave viewers more insight into the rather sickening family tree of the bent copper as she was grilled in interrogation.
After being in interrogation for quite some time, a broken Jo admitted that she had been groomed into a life of crime and was hired by her 'uncle' Tommy Hunter to join the police force at the age of 16.
But Jo’s story didn't stop there, as it is later revealed that her uncle Tommy is also her father.
Though the series comes to a dramatic close on Sunday 2nd May, many fans are trying their best to tie up the loose ends on a very twisted storyline.
Eagle-eyed observers of the crime show suspect that Jo also has another family member that she’s failed to mention, as they suspect Marcus Thurwell played by actor James Nesbit is also Jo's step-dad, who she revealed was a bent copper.
Taking to Twitter, Line of Duty enthusiasts aired their views on the relationship plot twist.
One fan penned: "Just watched last night’s Line of Duty again and I defs think Jo was led to believe either Thurwell or Osborne was her Dad who she said was bent, but couldn’t say in front of Carmichael cause she’s under their thumb/in on it too…"
"Thurwell is not dead, he was the Spanish police officer doing the raid! Thurwell is also Jo Davidson “dad” Carmichael is “H”. My take on #LineofDuty last night," another fan explained.
While a third added: "Season finale: Marcus Thurwell (Jo's step dad) knows AC-12 is on his tail. He will turn himself in & make a deal with ONLY Ted. The deal will only get done if they release Jo from any wrongdoing. He reveals himself as 'H' & implicates Osborne & Buckles."
As suspicions begin to intensify, many also believe Thurwell is still alive and well, despite the character being found dead at his villa in Spain following an AC-12 operation with Spanish police.
Fans believe that one of the Spanish officers who were a part of the police operation is in fact Thurwell.
"Could this random Spanish policeman be Thurwell?" One eagle-eyed viewer tweeted.
As the series finale approaches, let’s hope all clues will be revealed and no stone is left unturned.
