‘Love and Hip Hop: Miami’ Is Reportedly Canceled

Should the Miami franchise of VH1’s ‘Love and Hip Hop’ show be canceled, it leaves the cast and crew unemployed though it is said that the network has plans for them.

AceShowbiz -Oh no! If a new report is to be believed, VH1 has pulled the plug on one of its highest rated shows. It is said that the sophomore season of “Love & Hip Hop: Miami“, which concluded in March, may be its last.

A so-called high-level executive spills to MTO News that the network is considering to cancel the reality TV show. According to the insider, while the decision has not been made final, things don’t look too good for the Miami franchise of the network’s top show.

” ‘Love & Hip Hop’ is our franchise so we have to protect it and only have strong spin-offs,” the exec, who asked to remain anonymous, explains to the news outlet. “Atlanta, New York, and Hollywood are all doing well. Miami hasn’t performed.”

The executive notes that “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” garnered “about the same ratings as ‘Blank Ink Chicago‘.” However, one thing sets the two different. ” ‘Black Ink’ costs less than half as much to produce,” adds the source.

Should “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” be canceled, it leaves the cast and crew unemployed. However, it is said that the network has plans for them. “We’ll try and place some of them on other shows. Otherwise, they’re on their own,” shares the insider.

VH1 previously announced that they were planning to expand the “Black Ink” franchise by rolling out a few more “Black Ink” cities. “Black Ink Compton” is set premiere next year, while an Atlanta franchise is reportedly in talks on the network.

Premiering on January 1, 2018, “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” marks the fourth installment of the “Love & Hip Hop” reality television franchise. The series follows the lives of several people in the Miami area, involved with hip hop music in addition to featuring appearances from notable figures associated with Southern hip hop, as well as Latin music and reggaeton.

The cast includes Trina, Prince, Amara La Negra, Gunplay, Veronica Vega and Bobby Lytes. They are also joined by Shay Johnson, Trick Daddy and Jojo Zarur.
