Love Island’s Francesca lifts lid on claims she called Caroline Flack a ‘dirty paedo’

Eagle-eyed viewers thought they spied a moment of tension on Sunday night’s explosive episode of Love Island: Aftersun.

The way the camera was angled, it appeared that host Caroline Flack deliberately went out of her way to avoid giving dumped Islander Francesca Allen a hug.

Many suspected that the 39-year-old TV personality had heard the claims that Francesca had branded her a “dirty paedo” over her relationship with Harry Styles.

Taking to Instagram stories, the 23-year-old reality star decided to put an end to the rumours once and for all.

Francesca said that she had never uttered a bad word against the host, saying: “It’s all a learning curve. Me and Caroline get along really well.

“I don’t use Twitter and those words didn’t come out of my mouth. It’s all getting blown out of proportion.”

Before adding: “Me and Caroline had a little drink and a chat after Aftersun. So yeah, we get along really well. I don’t know what this is all about!”

She also pointed out that she had simply got out of her chair too early on Aftersun, so Caroline wasn’t expecting to embrace her so soon.

Blonde bombshell Caroline also took to Twitter to put the speculation to bed, saying: “As you know…I hate commenting on stuff…

“I didn’t snub Francesca…in fact quite the opposite..made her feel very welcome as soon as she got to the studio.”

She went on: “I don’t hold grudges.. and the wellbeing of our insiders is important to me. Thought she was a great islander.”

It all blew up after an old tweet dating back to 2012 was unearthed, claiming that the Essex-born beauty had made nasty jokes about Caroline while at London’s Wireless festival.

Penned by her alleged pal Paigey Banks, it read: “Highlight of the day seeing Caroline Flack and calling her a dirty paedo with @francesca_allen hahaha.”

It referred to Caroline’s relationship with One Direction star Harry Styles, which played out when Harry was 17 and she was 31 years of age.

Luckily, it seems like its all water under the bridge, as now the two women have made it clear that they have nothing but respect for each other.
