Maya Jama left fans distracted from the annual award show with her outfit choice, which gave viewers “goosebumps”. The 27-year-old presenter appeared to host a segment of the National Television Awards 2021 wearing a velvet strapless gown which fans described as “unbelievable”.

One viewer tweeted: “Christ Maya Jama is unbelievable.”

Another wrote: “Maya Jama looks INCREDIBLE!!! Honestly looking at her gives me goosebumps. Knowing how far she’s come! What an absolute force! #NTAs #NTAwards.”

A third fan of the television presenter added: “Maya Jama on tv on a Thursday night really is what the doctor ordered.”

Others referred to Maya’s outfit as “beautiful” and “looking too good”.

Maya, who has presented BBC Three competition Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star, tagged Bvlgari, the high-end Italian Jeweler, in a Twitter post ahead of the show which said awards season was her “fave”.

She also shared pictures of herself wearing her eye-catching outfit on Instagram which was liked by nearly 200,000 followers.

One Instagram user commented: “You look amazing, your skin is glowing.”

Another added: “The awards have got to stop inviting you, you win the best dressed every time.”

When standing on the stage in front of the huge crowd, Maya said: “Oh my god it’s massive from here.”

The presenter then muddled up her lines live on air when she was about to present the first award of the night.

She said: “First night of award – bleh – the first award of the night and it’s a big one. So let me get my words out.”

However, her slip-up did not go unnoticed by ITV viewers, who highlighted her mistake on Twitter.

One person tweeted: “First night of the award. You had one job @MayaJama. Classic. #NTAs.”

Another said: “And there we have the first f*** up. Cheers Maya Jama.”

However, Maya went on to read out the nominations for the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award, which went to ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Geordie presenting duo Ant and Dec then went on stage to accept the prestigious accolade.

So far, BBC’s police drama Line Of Duty has been awarded Best Returning Drama.

The Great British Bake Off won the best challenge show, beating ITV’s Love Island.

The winner of Best Serial Drama Performance went to Mollie Gallagher for her portrayal as Nina Lucas in Coronation Street.
