Filming for the fifth season of Money Heist wrapped earlier in the year with the final episodes being split into two parts. With the cast now no longer living alongside one another to film the series, Palermo star Rodrigo de la Serna shared a heartfelt goodbye with his colleagues
La Casa De Papel has seen many deaths including Nairobi (played by Alba Flores) and Moscow (Paco Tous) but season five saw the most unexpected – Tokyo (Ursula Corbero).
Ahead of the final episodes dropping on Netflix on December 3, the Palermo star spoke about saying goodbye to his co-stars and returning to Argentina.
Speaking of how much he will miss the cast and crew, he remarked: “I’ve spent two years of my life with them.
“We even lived through the pandemic together and shared intense situations. We’ve become great friends.”
He continued to the Indian Express: “I live in a country very far away from Spain, and the world.
“So, I’m really going to miss them dearly.”
Palermo cause trouble for the gang in season four when he released Gandia (José Manuel Poga), the Chief of Security at the Bank of Spain.
His release caused chaos for the robbers and led to the death of the beloved Nairobi.
Now, Palermo is trying to prove he is loyal to the gang and redeem himself – but will it be enough?
Rodrigo continued: “He was very hard hit by the loss of Berlin in the past seasons and Nairobi’s death also hit him very deeply.
“So I think he’s going to be looking for that redemption.
“I think he will find things in his colleague and friend Helsinki.”
Meanwhile, fans have been left devastated by Tokyo’s death after she sacrificed herself after being shot.

Money Heist season 5 part 1 ending explained: Does Tokyo die? [LATEST]
With the army closing in on Tokyo, Denver (Jaime Lorente) and Manila (Belén Cuesta), she told them to escape down a dumbwaiter in the kitchen they were hiding in.
Tokyo was already badly injured and stayed for a shoot out with the army who eventually caught up to her.
Gandia stood over Tokyo, certain he was about to kill her but in a surprise twist, she revealed she’d pulled the pins out of several grenades attached to her chest.
Before the army could escape, they were blown up and the gang were rid of their latest threat.
Fans rushed to comment on her tragic ending with one fan writing on Reddit: “Can’t believe Tokio really died. At least she took that f**ker with her.”
Another posted: ““Tokyo isn’t my favorite character but her death actually hurt so bad it’s up there with Nairobi’s.”
Someone else added: “I can’t process this DEATH. For Nairobi, I was prepared to an extent but TOKYO’s death was TRAUMATIZING. Is this for real!!!”
