It was a case of third time lucky for Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) in Emmerdale when she tried to find romance on a dating app. Her first attempt resulted in her meeting cycling enthusiast Joy – a lovely woman, but one who had absolutely nothing in common with Mary. The second date was a no-show.
And then she met Faye (Jane Gurnett). Like Mary, Faye loves sci fi and books. She has a social conscience, and was just off on a charity mission to Ecuador. Most importantly, Mary was very attracted to her and the feeling was mutual.
The charity trip to Ecuador meant that Faye had to leave almost as soon as the pair had met and Mary wondered whether that would be the last she’d ever see of her, but a couple of weeks ago Faye returned. Mary was delighted to discover that the spark between them was still there.
Their first date after Faye’s return was a huge success and Mary’s hopes were high that this could turn into a lasting relationship.
And in coming episodes, she decides to take the next step by introducing Faye to the rest of the family.
The plan is to have Faye meet Rhona (Zoe Henry) and Marlon (Mark Charnock) at Marlon’s birthday party, but when he scraps the party idea after falling out with Paddy (Dominic Brunt) Rhona still insists she would love to meet Faye.
How will the meeting go?
