Richard Madeley drops I’m A Celeb hint as he takes note of Kate Garraway’s tips

Richard Madeley has been teasing his possible appearance on this year's I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! – but a slip up on GMB has left Kate Garraway fearing he could be dropped.

The ITV reality show is set to return to Gwrych Castle next month and TV presenter Richard was tipped as a favourite to be entering the show.

Fans are yet to find out who they can watch on their screens as one of this year's most loved reality shows returns to our screens, though hosts Ant and Dec have been made aware of who they can expect to join them in Wales.

Richard is not averse to dabbling in the reality TV world – he appeared on The Circle as a surprise addition to the second season.

Kate Garraway, appeared on the show back in 2019 – when the celebs were sent to the Australian jungle – and conversation turned to Kate's top tips for succeeding on the show.

Whilst chatting through her advice, Richard pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket and this in turn prompted Kate's speculation.

She said: "You're taking notes?" and Richard replied: "No, I called ITV head office about this about 10 minutes ago because I knew you'd do this.

"They said 'Richard, if asked if you are going to the castle, talk about the weather' and it's remarkably mild weather we're having for the time of year I think."

Kate cheekily replied: "Is that because you're thinking about the weather in the castle?"

Richard retorted with: "They said if there are supplementary questions like that then you should simply say, 'You may say, 'I couldn't possibly comment' or 'I can neither confirm or deny'."

Finding out who will be taking the plunge this year is a hot topic as fans are desperate to learn who is in the star-studded line up.

Kate said: "It's the time of year when rumours circulate. What I would advise is to just be themselves because they are entirely entertaining in their own right."

The bantering between the two seemed to suggest Richard was a likely contender for this year's show but he failed to confirm nor deny the rumours.

Kate became worried that the cheeky to and fro between the two could have actually let the cat out of the bag, if there is a cat at all, that is.

She said: "They're not going to drop you now are they? Because you have given too many hints."

In what seemed to have become Madeley's catchphrase on the latest episode of Good Morning Britain, he said: "I can neither confirm or deny."

The hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley then quickly moved on with the show.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV
