There’s seemingly more heartache ahead for Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) in Coronation Street, as she misses out on saying goodbye to kids Charlie and Lexie ahead of their departure following a horrifying accident.
Abi has struggled to come to terms with the thought of letting her twins go, and she’s wrestled with the prospect of saying goodbye to them.
However, she ultimately decides that she needs to do just that, and therefore she calls social services.
Abi is then delighted as social services agree to let her see her kids prior to their departure.
The day of the meeting arrives, and Abi promises Seb (Harry Visinoni) that she’ll meet him later so that they can say their final goodbyes to Charlie and Lexie together.
As she carries on working, Kevin (Michael Le Vell) heads out to a breakdown, leaving her in the garage on her own — and tragedy strikes, as the engine of the car she’s working on slips and traps her arm.
Meanwhile, Seb desperately attempts to get hold of Abi and ultimately jumps to the wrong conclusion — believing her to have let the twins down.
Later, he calls round to give Abi a piece of his mind for missing her last shot at saying goodbye to her children, but he soon discovers that she’s been in a serious accident and therefore is in hospital.
Will Abi be okay?
What’s more, how will she react when she learns that she’s likely lost out on her last chance to bid farewell to the twins?
