Stephen ITV cast: Who is in the cast of Stephen?

Stephen depicts the real-life events of Stephen Lawrence, an 18-year-old who was brutally killed as he was waiting for a bus in the early 1990s. Doreen Lawrence – Sharlene Whyte

In real life, Doreen has been at the forefront of fighting for justice following her son Stephen’s murder.

She actively campaigned for years to have his killers sent to prison, and Doreen will still be doing so when we see her in ITV’s Stephen in 2006.

Doreen is portrayed by actress Sharlene Whyte, who most recently played Agnes Smith in BBC One drama Small Axe.

She has also been in Casualty, Spooks, Waterloo Road, Sadie J, and Second Coming.

Neville Lawrence – Hugh Quarshie

Neville may not be as well known as his ex-wife Doreen Lawrence, but he was Stephen’s father.

He also campaigned for justice for many years in the hope of getting those who were responsible convicted.

Actor Hugh Quarshie will be reprising this role, as he first portrayed Neville in ITV’s The Murder of Stephen Lawrence in the 1990s.

Some of his other work includes Doctor Who, Breeders and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Clive Driscoll – Steve Coogan

DCI Clive Driscoll was the detective responsible for the eventual convictions of two of Stephen’s murderers.

This will be the first time that his story will be told through a drama.

Actor and comedian Steve Coogan is best known for his character Alan Partridge, a role which he took on again recently for This Time With Alan Partridge.

Coogan has done some more serious acting as well, including the likes of Philomena and Stan and Ollie.

Stuart Lawrence – Jordan Myrie

Stuart Lawrence was the younger brother of Stephen and was just 16 at the time of his death.

Going by the trailer, Stuart is going to be in court when the proceedings against his brother’s murderers take place.

Actor Jordan Myrie is new to the entertainment industry with just a handful of credits under his belt so far.

His previous acting projects are Dancing in the Dark, Shepherd’s Delight, and Get Gone.

Cressida Dick – Sian Brooke

Cressida Dick, who is now the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service, was deputy assistant commissioner security and protection in 2006.

She later went on to order a full forensic review into the evidence obtained from Stephen’s case.

She will be played by actress Sian Brooke who is best known as Eurus Holmes in the BBC drama Sherlock.

Some of her other series include Trying, Guilt, Doctor Foster, The Terror, and Good Omens.

Stephen starts tonight, Monday, August 30, at 9pm on ITV.
