Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) has found himself in hot water in EastEnders as the locals are now placing the blame firmly at his door for Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) going missing after he has been accused of having a secret affair with the student.
With Bex having disappeared after being humiliated by Kish Kazemi’s (Davood Ghadami) rejection, Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) and Martin (James Bye) have been in a panic and wanted answers. Martin was horrified as Kush filled him in over Bex trying to seduce him in the shower but then Ted Murray (Christopher Timothy) told them about an altercation she had had with Stuart.
Stuart had actually been trying to help Bex by taking the vodka bottle from her but from where Ted stood, it looked like a struggle. And now the photograph that Rainie Branning (Tanya Franks) took of him hugging Bex has reached the frantic parents and the pieces have fitted together, albeit in the very wrong order.
Rainie now doubts her own claim and feels bad that Stuart has been set up like this but will she speak up for him when it seems like a pretty open and shut case. Meanwhile, Stuart is genuinely worried for Bex and headed out to try and track her down, eventually finding her smashed phone abandoned.
A dishevelled Bex continued walking the busy streets of London alone, looking tearful and scared and she was approached by a dodgy man who offered her a room to stay in. As he clearly preyed on her vulnerability, she panicked and fled before bursting into tears, not knowing what to do.
Can she be found before something terrible happens to her? And can Stuart prove that he has had absolutely nothing to do with Bex ending up in this situation?
Or will he be the pariah of the Square – for once, without having done anything wrong?
