The Chase viewers were left stunned after a contestant dubbed herself a “crazy cat lady” and labelled chaser Anne Hegerty a “pussycat”

Bubbly contestant Tracey from Middlesex, who works as an Airworthiness inspector for a major airline, was asked by Bradley Walsh which chaser she’d like to go up against in her head-to-head.

Tracey replied: “Well I’m a self-confessed cat lady so I think Anne Hegerty because she’s a pussycat.”

A shocked Bradley paused for a moment as awkward giggles fell over the studio before Anne herself emerged as the chaser.

Chaser Anne, AKA, The Governess, was unsurprising unamused by the nickname.

"Not so much a crazy cat lady but I’m not quite sure whether you’re here to quiz or give my broomstick the once over”

Tracey had explained to Bradley and viewers at home that she owned six cats who were “tearing up her house”.

Asked how she’d like to spend her potential winnings, Tracey said: “I’d like to put it towards my house coz I’ve got loads of cats which are destroying the place and leaving dirty paw prints everywhere so I’d like to get it re-pained and decorated again.”

Bradley replied: “When was the last time you had it painted and decorated?”

To which Tracey said: “About a year and half ago but with six cats they’ve made it quite dirty.”

Fans were then shocked to discover most of the contestants owned dozens of wild animals.

Contestant Geoff, a retired GP from Southport admitted he also had a fondness for animals: “I haven’t got six cats but I’ve got a guinea pig and a cat and a dog and we have a horse aswell.”

But it was contestant Duran, an animal management graduate who sent viewers over the edge telling Bradley she owned 50 different species of animals.

“I’ve got a lot of animals at home so i’d like to get a couple ore with the money as well,” she told viewers.

When asked how many she has, she replied: “I have roughly 50 species of animals at home. Most of them are invertebrates so spiders and insects .

“So basically you live in a zoo,” replied Bradley

She went on to say that she owned two snakes and would like to get a red eyed tree fro

Governess Anne also took a dig at the red-head telling her “Continuing the animal theme we’ve got Duran who’s come as a coral reef"
