Some terrible guesses on The Chase left Bradley Walsh struggling to hold it together – and viewers asking some serious questions.

Likeable teacher Nicola was looking to top-up her total in her cash builder round on the ITV show.

But after hearing a range of wrong answers while reading out the questions, Bradley got the giggles.

Viewers at home were left shocked by what Nicola said to one in particular.

She was asked by the former Coronation Street star: "What is the usual term for the area served by a school?"

Nicola guessed: "The playground?"

Bradley's face said it all and those watching were shocked a teacher would get it wrong as she failed to find the right answer 'catchment area'.

The pressure had already got to her when the early question came up: Which Hollywood actor starred in Grosse Point Blank?

Responding "Martin Kemp", the host started to sense it could be a long round.

It was only just getting going, and soon after the poor woman got it wrong again

Bradley asked: "Taking the form of a jaguar, Tezcatilpoca was god of the night sky in what mythology?"

Nicola guessed: "Egyptian, because they worshipped cats and jaguar is a cat isn't it?"

Bradley asked: "Where do you find a jaguar?"

Before Nicola replied: "The Amazon? Oh it's Aztec isn't it…"

Nicola then faced Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan in the next round but she didn't improve – and was sent home empty-handed.

Twitter was awash with comments about her feeble display and one guess kept on coming up.

One viewer tweeted: " #TheChase Bradley "What is the usual term for the area served by a school?" Nicola "Playground" Bradley "Catchment area" ….Nicola is a school teacher".

Another teased: "I do hope her students are watching this #thechase,"

A third said "I wish Nicola was my teacher at school!"
