Jermaine Jenas has proudly announced his wife Ellie Penfold is expecting their first baby boy after previously welcoming two daughters.
The 38 year old, who is also dad to a daughter from a previous relationship, revealed the news on The One Show on Monday evening after being confirmed as a permanent host alongside Alex Jones, who is also expecting her third child.
As Alex, 44, welcomed Jermaine to his first episode of the show as an official member of the BBC One show's team, she hinted: "There's some other good news as well. Can we share?"
Jermaine responded: "Of course we can share. Obviously you've given us the baby news, and I wanted to tell you at that particular point.
"Yes, I've got a baby on the way. I'm taking the credit for having the baby already, aren't I?
"But no, I've got three girls and it's a boy that's on his way, so very excited in my house as you can imagine."
Alex happily responded: "You've wanted a boy for a while, haven't you?," with Jermaine admitting: "Yeah, the four year old's not took it too well though if I'm honest with you."
Expectant mum Alex related: "Neither has ours! He said, 'Mama, we've already got a baby, send it back'. I said, 'It doesn't work like that'. Your four year old not keen either?"
Jermaine explained: "No, the eight year old is already practicing, the four year old just put a face on her like, 'I'm the baby in the house, let's not be doing this'."
The retired footballer and Ellie welcomed their first daughter, Geneva, in 2013, extending their brood to add Olivia in 2016.

He is also dad to 10 year old Sancha, who lives in the United States with her mum Sabrina Keogh, who Jermaine split from in 2008.
Jermaine was announced as a permanent host of The One Show last month alongside former Boyzone singer Ronan Keating.
BBC One confirmed the news on 29 April and explained the pair would be 43 year old Matt Baker's official replacements on the series after he quit in early 2020 following nine years.

Clearly excited, Ronan, 44, said: "I’m so delighted to officially be a part of The One Show family.
"It’s a show I’ve loved for many years as both a guest and a host and I can’t wait to get started alongside Alex, Jermaine and the wonderful team behind the scenes."
While Jermaine chimed: "I’ve absolutely loved being a part of The One Show, Alex, the team and the viewers have made me feel so welcome and we’ve had a lot of fun already. I’m really looking forward to joining as a full time host alongside Ronan."
