‘Vegan’ Beverley Callard baffles I’m A Celeb fans as she’s spotted eating butter

Coronation Street actress Beverley Callard been accused of faking her veganism in order to avoid the worst of the eating trials.

The soap legend, 63, was voted to do a threeway eating challenge alongside Vernon Kay and Jordan North.

During the task, aptly called Frights of the Round Table, each celeb had to eat a range of grim things.

While Jordan had to eat fish eye and Vernon snacked on a cow's teat, Bev was given a range of fruits including the repulsively titled vomit fruit.

During the track, she let slip to hosts Ant and Dec that she 'had only been vegan since March'.

However, at the end of the show she was seen enjoying bread and butter with her campmates.

Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ Pritchard and EastEnders star Jessica Plummer won the treat for the whole camp after winning their Castle Coin Challenge.

The inconsistency was quickly picked up on by confused viewers who took to Twitter to express their confusion.

One viewer wrote: "Beverley Callard eating butter as a vegan #imacelebrity"

Another said: "Ummmmm Beverley Callard isn’t vegan. She just ate butter. #imacelebrity"

A third continued: "Hmm Beverley Callard goes vegan in March just as #imacelebrity negotiations start."

Earlier this week Bev's inclusion in the eating trial divided fans – despite producers trying hard to make things work.

One fan of I'm A Celeb raged: "Ridiculous that @beverleycallard gets special treatment because she’s a vegan – if you sign up for something you should have to all participate in everything. No special treatment @imacelebrity"

  • Lily Allen 'didn't masturbate until late 20s' as she found it 'difficult to get pleasure'

It's not known if Bev was provided with different butter for the snack but it is thought bosses may be providing her with operate meals for meal time.

Team GB legend Mo Farah requested that he is given different meat to his campmates due to his religion.

As a practicing muslim, the Olympian only eats Halal meat.
