Are all the Duttons safe amid season 5 renewal rumours?

Yellowstone fans are eagerly awaiting the release of season four, so they can find out which of the Duttons survived.

In the season three finale, different groups of anonymous assassins were sent to target John (played by Kevin Costner), his daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) and son Kayce (Luke Grimes).

The season ended on a major cliffhanger as John had been shot and Beth was caught up in an explosion.

Meanwhile, Kayce had been ambushed by a group of gunmen and he was left to fend them off on his own.

Fans have spotted a potential series update that suggests the main characters will live to fight another season. shared the news that the series has allegedly been renewed for a fifth season.

The post said: “It appears that Yellowstone has quietly been renewed for a 5th Season. Filming for the 5th Season is due to start in July 2021.

“We’ll post the official press release when it’s released.” There has been no news from Paramount Network about a season five renewal at this moment in time.

Plenty of fans commented on the post, expressing their excitement at the prospect of another season.

One said: “As it should. Ratings keep going up each season. It’s quite insane tbh. Reminds me of GoT.”

They went on to say how they hoped there is an “endgame” in mind, adding “season five or season six should be the end”.

The franchise is also expanding with a prequel called Y:1883 and a spin-off series with the working title 6666.

Fans believe a fifth season would be tricky amid the other two project announcements, but they are excited nonetheless.

One viewer said on Reddit: “This can only mean none of the Duttons die.”

At least some of the main characters are likely to survive if the series really has been renewed for another season.

The series is filmed at the Chief Joseph Ranch in Montana and the website for the guest ranch has also hinted at a fifth season.

They mentioned a “filming schedule for 2022” which suggests a fifth season has already been penned.

The site said: “In June 2020, Paramount announced that all filming for the Yellowstone series would take place in Montana beginning with Season 4. This increased local production has created shorter reservation allowances. Chief Joseph Ranch is now completely full with reservations for 2021.

“The filming schedule for 2022 is not available at this time. Please continue to visit our website for updates and scheduling information.”
